Endurance supports Mike Beck’s arctic challenge for Ice Cool Kids
Braving the harsh Arctic wilderness, battling sub-zero temperatures, and skiing 160km over three gruelling days – our very own Mike Beck is taking on the challenge of a lifetime!
On April 4, Mike, our Asset Disposal Manager, will trade in the keys to our used vehicle fleet for a pair of skis as he embarks on the Arctic Circle Race, all to raise funds for Ice Cool Kids – a charity very close to his heart.
Starting and finishing in Sisimiut, Greenland, the course winds through the remote and beautiful wilderness of Kangerlussuaq and thanks to its brutal terrain, extreme conditions, and sheer endurance required, it is widely regarded as the toughest cross-country ski race in the world. Between three days of relentless skiing, Mike will camp under the freezing Arctic sky, pushing himself to the limit both physically and mentally.
“This race is going to test me like nothing before,” says Beck. “But I’m doing it for Ice Cool Kids – a charity I’ve been proud to support for the past two years. They help young people with disabilities experience the thrill of skiing – something many thought impossible. By taking on this challenge, I hope to raise funds that will support a future trip abroad for these incredible kids.”
Mike is aiming to raise £3,000, and here at Endurance are proud to sponsor some of his travel and accommodation costs to ensure every penny he raises goes directly to this fantastic cause.

We’ll be following Mike’s journey as he trains, plans, and prepares for this extraordinary challenge. Along the way, we’ll share insights into the amazing work of Ice Cool Kids, and, of course, we’ll celebrate his triumph when he crosses the finish line on April 6.
Everyone at Endurance HQ is behind you, Mike – we’re incredibly proud to support you on this incredible mission!
