WHAT does summer mean? Rain! No, sorry, Festivals! As thousands of brave souls head off with their Lidl tent-for-one, vintage band T-shirts and ironic supply of sun block, our thoughts at Endurance are with the huge maintenance and clean-up operations required to make these events safe and successful.

Festivals pose a unique set of considerations for operators. First, safety. They must operate in very close proximity to thousands of people (some of whom aren’t necessarily capable of walking in a straight line). Second is access, which is usually restrictive. Then you’ve got the ground conditions as well; at best it’ll be grass, at worst, mud. Third is capacity. Festivals like Glastonbury are more akin to pop-up towns these days. That’s a lot of, erm, visits to the loo.
